I heard about the PBS Kids Funfest from Judith Stone, the author who writes my books for me and photographer, Mark Niederquell, who takes all my beautiful pictures.
They told me it was a lot of fun and that 6,000 people were there! I've seen a lot of people when I've been in parades, but never 6,000!
Mr. Niederquell showed me the photgraphs he took and everyone was smiling in them, especially the children. He told me the kids really loved to touch the bison robe and buffalo skull that were on the tables at my booth. Our bison fur is very soft, isn't it? Did you know our horns and beards are used to dig and sweep away the deep snow so we can eat the grass underneath?
I also heard about all the wonderful staff and volunteers at Rocky Mountain PBS. They made the 2009 PBS Kids Funfest, the best Funfest ever! Then,I found out that The Great Sand Dunes National Park, Florissant National Park and Fort Bent National Park were there from my home state of Colorado. So Far, I've only been to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Zapata Falls but hope Val will take me on adventures in more of them because I sure had a fun time with all the kids I met at the Great Sand Dunes!
I'd love to hear from children and their parents who like my books. You can ask me anything about bison you want. I really enjoy meeting new people, especially kids, and I will write back to you!
Much Love, Billie
